It’s a treasure that’s near to us, each person we meet

 Aims and contents:

In the second stage, with the answers of Chiara and episodes of the Gospel to help us, our aim will be to discover who our “neighbours” are and how can we love them. Pay attention to those who pass us by and what they may need (like Chiara did during the war or like the Good Samaritan). Let’s try to be “true” friends like those people who took the paralysed man to Jesus and they didn’t give up when faced with a difficulty, or the first focolarine who helped people in need to reach the air-raid shelter.

“As you love yourself”, will help us better understand what the person next to us might need (our “neighbour”). We will understand better what we already started in the previous stage: the discovery that by loving our neighbour we love Jesus: “Love Jesus in the other”!

Chiara’s Answers (attachment 1 ):

Holy Scripture:

- Episode of the Good Samaritan. This helps us understand what Jesus means with “love your neighbour” (attachment 2);

- Episode of the healing of the paralysed man, where the important thing is the help of friends who take the sick person to Jesus – therefore they become “neighbours” – they don’t give up until they find a solution so that they can meet. (attachment 3)

 Other material:

-      Sometimes we know or we find ourselves with people who are different from us and we don’t always understand how to make friends with them. Let’s try not “to give up” and try to discover together how to become “friends” or even how to help them in what they may need
